According to Scott Harrington, music attorney & counsel for the Rolling Stones and the Eagles, unsigned artists should look inward.

In a recent Music Connection interview, Harrington noted 2 hot issues concerning artists’ rights. Labels now demand assignment clauses, a provision that provides labels total control over the artists’ contracts. Secondly, labels are strongarming the digital rights issue by forcing exclusive licenses to music sites.
